Job Description:
The Highlights:The Asst. Director of Special Populations is
responsible for oversight, processing, service and financial aid
integration for the Schools of Music and Theatre, in addition, the
Student Athlete and Study Abroad populations. Working closely with
these programs, this position will assist with meeting goals and
maintaining compliance with regulatory issues surrounding these
programs, i.e. NCAA. In addition, the Assistant Director will
communicate with students and parents in person, over the phone and
via email, apprising them of all general financial aid program
guidelines. The Assistant Director will participate in application
processing, awarding, review and award modifications of various
appeals.What You'll Do:
- Administration of Athletic Aid awards in compliance with Title
IV regulations along with working directly with Associate Director
of compliance for athletics. Reconciliation of awards, and
development and maintaining policy and procedure manual for this
process.
- Work closely with the Schools of Music and Theatre beginning
with the initial award cycle for incoming students to strategically
award talent scholarships to meet annual enrollment goals set by
the university. Process individual financial aid packages for
incoming students and maintain financial aid packages for
continuing students each academic year. Participate in Open house
events, and admitted days for each population.
- Work in conjunction with the Study Abroad office and maintain
the DePaul sponsored study abroad processes.
- Counsels students and parents in person, over the phone and via
email advising them about available aid programs and educational
financing options, applications procedures and eligibility
criteria.
- Assumes oversight of the financial aid processes, appeals and
procedures in collaboration and consistent with direction
established by the Director of Financial Aid Student Service, for
special populations identified. No direct supervisory duties.
- Participation in administration of individual student aid
programs; aggregate dollars of programs involved exceed $150
million.
- Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:
- Bachelors Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience of being a FA practitioner and
experience working with special populations regarding management
and administration of these populations.
- Demonstrated communication skills, program management, analytic
skills, and attention to detail.
- Capacity to embrace change and willingness to be flexible.
- Capacity to work independently, effectively, and under pressure
during peak processing.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends; ability to travel for
professional development events.The anticipated hiring range for
this position is: $50,174.00 to $60,000.00 per year.The salary
range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect
to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is
dependent on experience, education and other factors including
