motivated Veterinary Practice Manager to oversee the daily
operations of our rehabilitation practice in Chicago, IL, which
includes 3 veterinarians and a therapy/support team of 12. This
role combines leadership, administration, and business management
to support high-quality care for pets and exceptional service for
clients. This is a full-time, exempt position Monday through Friday
with occasional overtime and/or after-hours responsibilities.

opportunity for you. Key Responsibilities Client Relationship
Management : Ensure a consistently positive client experience that
meets or exceeds expectations. Partner with the Lead CSR, who
serves as a strong secondary lead handling many day-to-day
client-service tasks. Develop initiatives to build and maintain
strong relationships with new and existing clients. Proactively
addresses client concerns, using effective escalation protocols
when necessary to ensure resolution. Implement and manage tools to
measure and continuously improve client satisfaction. Manage
financial discussions with clients in a fair, professional, and
solutions-oriented manner. Leadership & Communication : Serve as
the operational lead in co-leadership with the Managing
Veterinarian. Demonstrate strong leadership and communication
through achievement of practice wellness goals. Communicate goals,
expectations, and priorities clearly to align the team with
business objectives. Create a culture of trust, collaboration, and
accountability that supports long-term team engagement and
retention. Ensure open, timely, and effective communication across
all roles and teams; identify communication gaps and find
solutions. Actively engage in practice and group team meetings to
promote alignment and shared success. Promote teamwork across all
roles (technical staff, CSRs, veterinarians, and group leadership)
to ensure coordinated and effective operations. Build and maintain
positive, cooperative relationships with all team members. Support
a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and shared
success. Provide and receive feedback constructively to support
growth and performance. Marketing & Referral Outreach : Execute the
practice-level demand generation SOPs in alignment with business
goals & objectives. Identify local marketing and outreach
opportunities that strengthen client acquisition and referral
relationships. Track performance of marketing initiatives using
data-driven metrics and recommend adjustments based on outcomes.
Partner with the Managing Veterinarian (mDVM) and VROMP leadership
to ensure demand generation efforts align with practice goals.
Human Resources : Attract, recruit, and retain high-performing team
members; ensure onboarding and training processes set employees up
for success. Provide regular coaching, performance reviews,
remediation plans, and development opportunities to grow individual
and team capabilities, including the development of a secondary
leadership team. Identify and support career progression for
high-potential team members, reducing turnover risks and building
future leadership capacity. Address staff concerns with fairness
and professionalism, maintaining a positive work environment.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, wage regulations, HR policies,
and SOPs in partnership with other leadership. Facility Operations
: Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and
readiness for patient care. Maintain accurate and complete medical
records and ensure effective communication with referring
veterinarians. Manage inventory systems and vendor relationships to
ensure reliable supply of materials within budget. Develop and
oversee facility and equipment maintenance plans that support
patient care and client confidence. Monitor Practice Management
System and other software for consistent and accurate client
record-keeping, reporting, and execution of SOPs. Ensure compliance
with safety and security standards (e.g., OSHA) and foster a
culture of safety through training and accountability. Effectively
implement all VROMP operational SOPs and identify opportunities for
process improvement. Financial & Business Performance Management :
Collaborate with the mDVM and VROMP leadership to develop annual
goals, budgets, and quarterly forecasts aligned with business
objectives. Monitor and interpret P&L statements and other
financial and operational metrics and benchmarks to drive positive
financial outcomes. Track progress toward key goals and Targets to
Improve (TTIs), developing and executing action plans to address
performance gaps. Collaborate effectively with Managing DVM,
practice team, and VROMP leadership to implement performance
improvement strategies that support practice and group-wide goals.
Review appropriate practice financial information regularly with
leadership and staff, celebrating successes and identifying
opportunities for improvement. Effectively manage operating
expenses, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting
processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Oversee cash-handling
and internal control procedures to maintain financial integrity.
Ensure adherence to VROMP accounting, finance, and practice
performance management policies and SOPs. Perform other duties as
assigned. Skills and Qualifications Required Skills: Bachelors
degree in business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a veterinary or
healthcare setting. Proficiency with practice management software
and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of budgeting,
financial reporting, and operational workflows. Exceptional
organizational and multitasking skills. Leadership skills with the
ability to motivate and guide teams toward success. Exceptional
communication and conflict resolution abilities. Resilience under
pressure and ability to manage challenges effectively.

Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) desirable, but not
