Location: Chicago, Hybrid Reports to: Senior Program Manager Salary
Range: $35-50 per hour Mission Genesys Works is a nonprofit
organization that provides pathways to career success for high
school students in underserved communities through skills training,
meaningful work experience, and impactful relationships. Purpose of
Position The purpose of the Accounting & Finance Trainer position
is to provide relevant, engaging technical training and mentorship
to incoming high school seniors, to prepare them for internships at
one of our 40 corporate partners. The Trainer is responsible for
teaching and assessing students in topics such as: Microsoft Office
programs, project management, data analytics, and basic accounting
principles. Alongside Genesys Works staff members, the Trainer will
lead, motivate, supervise, and mentor youth to support their
development into workforce-ready young professionals. This is a
part-time, temporary position from mid-June to early August 2026.
Key Responsibilities Train & Mentor Students (85%) Utilize Genesys
Works’ curriculum to teach two groups of young professionals during
our 6-week summer training Prepare students to enter and succeed in
the corporate environment by covering subjects such as corporate
structure, professional communication, presentations, customer
service, and the fundamentals of project management, data
analytics, and accounting & finance Develop trusting relationships
with our young professionals through mentoring and encouragement,
providing feedback and one-on-one coaching when necessary for
individual and program success Grade Student Work & Evaluate
Progress (15%) Assign and grade student quizzes, tests,
presentations, and/or demonstrations in a timely manner through LMS
system, Schoology Through weekly meetings and informal check-ins,
collaborate with full-time Genesys Works Program Coordinators in
monitoring summer training performance and provide input to support
decisions regarding which students earn an internship

successfully execute the responsibilities described above. Ideal
candidates will possess: Strong Instructional, Classroom Management
& Collaboration Abilities Effective oral and written communication
skills Proficiency facilitating technical curriculum, adapting and
differentiating based on student need Reinforcement of students’
professional skill development including effective
communication,reliability, dependability, and adaptation to
corporate culture Cultivation of a positive learning environment
with classroom management and engagement strategies Clear
establishment and communication of objectives for all learning
activities Provision of timely and effective feedback to support
professional development Proficiency in using online meeting tools
such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams Accounting & Finance Skillset
Certifications, credentialing and/or college degree in an
accounting-related field of study Experience teaching computer
skills and accounting & finance principles OR relevant work
experience as an accounting & finance professional Proficiency in
using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) Knowledge
of or experience with elementary project management and data
analytics Knowledge of or experience with accounting topics:
budgeting, assets & liabilities, accounts receivable & accounts
payable, debits & credits, and balance sheets Heart, Humor &

backgrounds Physical Requirements Including, but not limited to,
standing and sitting for long periods; speaking loudly and clearly;
reaching, stooping, and kneeling; and fine-finger and hand
manipulation in use of a computer, dry erase board, or projector.
The employee must have close visual acuity to perform activities
such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a
computer terminal, and extensive reading. Most work environments
