working with? Our Controls Engineering team combines knowledge of
customers’ requirements with deep domain expertise and tenured
experience to deliver Maintenance of Way (MOW) equipment and
solutions that utilize existing and cutting-edge technologies that
exceed customer and industry expectations. Here you will partner
with other key stakeholders to support our customers and their
operations. How will you make a difference? As a member of the
Controls Engineering team, you will be responsible for performing
electrical modeling, design, component selection, programming and
documentation for new and existing Maintenance of Way equipment.
You will manage your projects within cost targets while maintaining
project schedule. What do we want to know about you? Bachelor’s
Degree Electrical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or
equivalent One (1) to five (5) years engineering experience
Knowledge of electrical symbols, schematics, circuits, ladder
logic, programming, PLCs, HMIs and PCs Familiarity with fluid
symbols, schematics, and circuits Experience with hydraulic,
pneumatic, and mechanical systems Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, UL,
and ISO guidelines and standards Experience with industrial
automation or mobile machine design Ability to translate design
requirements into practical, cost effective, reliable product
designs Familiarity with CoDeSys or other IEC 61131-3 programming
languages Familiarity with C++ or other OOP languages Familiarity
with Promis-E, AutoCAD Electrical or other electrical schematic
drafting software package Familiarity with PRO E/Creo or other 3D
modeling software Familiarity with State flow software.
Demonstrated individual project management skills (maintaining
scope, schedule, and budget) on small projects What will your
typical day look like? Design electrical controls (typically CAN
based) for independent subsystems on board mobile equipment
Interface with others during the designing, building, and field
testing of prototypes and production models Create designs within
pre-defined cost targets Participate in design reviews Provide
technical product support though all phases of project Advise
Department Manager on a regular basis as to the status of ongoing
projects Mark-up electrical schematics and cabling drawings per
as-built revisions Review and update functional and technical
specification documents Assist with the development of technical
publications, such as operator and maintenance manuals Monitor
individual design schedule to ensure completion as determined by
Department Manager Conduct bench-top and field tests for new and
existing components or subsystems to validate functionality Ensure
that designs meet requirements on function, reliability, safety and
performance of equipment operation Create and maintain bills of
materials and write engineering change orders What about the
physical demands of the job? Work is primarily light duty and
requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing
up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to sit, stand
and walk unassisted. Requires the use of hands and fingers to
handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required
to talk and hear. Normal correctable vision is required. Travel
less than 10% Additional Information Our job titles may span more
than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently
$71500-98100 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be
influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable
skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands
and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may
