SUMMARY

The Manager, Office of Nursing Resource Management (ONRM) is responsible for leading: house supervisors of nursing, staffing coordinators, supplemental resources and contract labor. This role serves as the Division of Nursing Services senior advisor on matters pertaining to outcome monitoring and effective utilization of Division resources. The manager is responsible for the compilation of unit/department empirical data, maintaining \"state of the art\" outcome measurement and reporting systems, providing scheduling and staffing support, deploying centralized patient care and support staff, and managing special projects. Analysis and other information utilized for monitoring and decision support to ensure financial viability, smooth operations and the delivery of cost effective quality patient care. The Manager, ONRM works closely with nursing, quality, and finance leadership to develop and execute strategies for improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CONTRIBUTING TO THE LEADERSHIP AND OPERATIONS OF NURSING SERVICES
    • Participates in Division of Nursing, executive team activities
    • Provides direction and leadership for the Office of Nursing Resource Management (ONRM)
    • Provides direct supervision and support to the leadership team within the ONRM
    • Plans for and administers the fiscal and physical resources within the ONRM
    • Plans for the appropriate number of personnel within the ONRM and maintains their knowledge and skill with the most current practices related to effective operations
    • Monitors ONRM performance and intervenes to ensure a high degree of constituent satisfaction with ONRM services and staff

    • MAINTAINING OUTCOME MEASUREMENT AND REPORTING SYSTEMS
      • Formulates the operational framework for outcome measurement and reporting within the Division
      • Implements data bases and analytical approaches to monitor the overall performance of the Division
      • Interacts with Finance, Human Resources, Quality Management, Information Systems, etc. to maintain and ensure integration of data management and reporting functions within the Division
      • Customizes data and measurement tools and processes to meet the needs of end users while maintaining consistency with standardized Division practices
      • Maintains a plan for meeting the Divisions needs for training and development related to outcome measurement and reporting, management decision support, etc.

      • PROVIDING SCHEDULING AND STAFFING SUPPORT
        • Provides Nursing executive team with insight on industry breakthroughs and organizational trends related to scheduling and staffing; recommend interventions to maintain a high functioning scheduling and staffing systems
        • Maintains \"State-of-the- Art\" automation to support scheduling and staffing within the Division of Patient Care Services
        • Coordinates the process for establishing financial, workload and other targets that guide projection of staffing resources
        • Maintains a plan for meeting the Divisions needs for training and development related to outcome measurement and reporting, management decision support, etc.

        • DEPLOYING CENTRALIZED PATIENT CARE AND SUPPORT STAFF
          • Provides systems and policies to maintain highly effective centralized patient care and support staff
          • Works with leadership within nursing and human resources to establish contemporary approaches for utilization of flexible staff
          • Analyzes utilization patterns and satisfactions results related to transport services; provides direction for the appropriate growth of services

          • MANAGING SPECIAL PROJECTS
            • Provides tools and process to support specialized project within the Division of Nursing
            • Serves as the project leader for designated projects within the Division of Nursing
            • Facilitates the Division goal setting and resource allocation process within the Division of Nursing
            • Establishes milestones and monitors progress to goals for special projects within the Division of Nursing

              QUALIFICATIONS

              Education and/or Experience

              Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business or hospital administration required.

              Master's Degree, preferably in nursing, business or hospital administration preferred.

              Minimum of 3 years healthcare experience required.

              Previous leadership, project management and data analysis experience preferred

              Computer Skills

              Proficiency in Microsoft Word, excel and power point required

              Proficiency in e mail programs such as outlook required

              Basic knowledge of scheduling systems preferred

              Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
