Position: Histology, Pathology Laboratory Supervisor (CT) ASCPEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: -Hoffman Estates, IL Salary: -$63,000-$97,000Hiring Organization: -450+ Bed Community Hospital -Magnet Award-Winning Facility Seeks a Decisive ASCP Certified Laboratory SupervisorThis Magnet-designated Community Hospital is seeking a Supervisor to lead their Pathology Laboratory team and oversee daily operations. This Lab Supervisor will need to bring strong attention to detail and decision-making abilities. An ideal (CT) ASCP candidate has strong Cytology and Histology experience and can oversee the Laboratory services. -As a Leapfrog Grade A Hospital, the Pathology Lab provides Anatomic services. The Pathology Laboratory Supervisor (ASCP) will be responsible for the administrative and technical activities associated with Cytology / Histology procedures and processes. This position will report directly to the Laboratory Operations Manager and supervise Lab staff ensuring test performance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory and certification adherence, compliance, and readiness. -Responsibilities for the Histology, Pathology Laboratory Supervisor (CT) ASCP: -

• Oversee Anatomic Pathology patient service lines associated with Cytology and Histology procedures and processes
• Assist in managing Pathology Laboratory Technologist staff and assign necessary workflow to Technicians
• Report to the Laboratory Operations Manager to develop goals, objectives, and strategic plans for the lab
• Partner with Laboratory Manager and all supervisory personnel to onboard and mentor Medical Technologists -
• Act as a resource for all laboratory-related issues and between ------leaders and laboratory employees across the clinic
• Coordinate training and educational programs for lab employees on topics such as OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard and Chemical Hygiene standard
• Ensure test performance, quality, cost-effectiveness, regulatory certification adherence, compliance, and readiness
• Review, revise, and develop policy and procedures related to the technical application in Cytology and Histology
• Respond thoroughly to inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity, and sensitivity
• Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all patient information -
• Accurately maintain records and data -
• Actively participate in product standardization, cost containment, and re-engineering of organizational issues and processes
• Ensure safety and compliance throughout the laboratory -
• Work with pathologists in maintaining updated quality systems and records per CAP, FDA, OSHA, and JC
• Provide technical advice to physicians, nurses, and other appropriate individualsRequirements for the Histology, Pathology Laboratory Supervisor (CT) ASCP: -
  • BA/BS in Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
  • Registered Cytotechnologist from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
  • 2+ years of Pathology Laboratory experience
  • 1+ years of Laboratory supervisory/leadership experience
  • Knowledge of CAP Proficiency and accreditation
