Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A specialized nursing opportunity is available for an experienced RN with strong cardiac and stepdown care skills. This travel position offers a 13-week assignment beginning early April, focused on night shift hours in a high-acuity hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of cardiac experience and be adept at managing patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. Key Responsibilities: - Provide exceptional nursing care on a High Care Unit (HCU) with a typical patient ratio of 4-5 per nurse during 12-hour night shifts. - Manage patient populations including heart failure, open-heart surgery recovery, arrhythmias, MI, and other cardiac and thoracic procedures. - Demonstrate proficiency in rhythm interpretation and routine cardiac care. - Chart accurately and timely using current Epic software. - Float to other hospital units as needed, including Oconomowoc and Mukwonago facilities. - Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams ensuring patient safety and quality care. Qualifications: - Valid WI or Compact RN license. - Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. - Minimum 1 year cardiac experience and 2 years medical-surgical hospital experience. - Experience with short-term acute care hospital settings. - Comfortable with patient ratios of 4-5 on night shift. - Recent Epic charting experience within the past 12 months. - Prior travel nursing contract experience preferred. - Resilient, adaptable, and able to manage change with a positive, social attitude.
