- Leading Environmental Services Provider Main Purpose: The Human
Resource Generalist position is responsible for aligning company
objectives with employees and management in designated service
areas. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function
to deliver value-added service to management and employees that
reflects the HR and business goals of the organization. The HR
Generalist will act as a liaison between managers and the HR
support functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive
person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels
within the organization. The HR Generalist must be sensitive to
corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs. Please
note that this position is on-site at our Hoffman Estates Office.

about the role:
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line
management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development,
disciplinary actions)
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work
relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and
retention
- Conducts regular meetings with respective internal
customers
- Travels to locations within area of responsibility
(region)
- Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when
appropriate
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to
develop solutions, programs and policies
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations resulting
in recommendation for action plan
- Manage and track all employee corrective action plans for
assigned territory
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to
day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and
ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal and other
internal departments as needed/required
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures,
workforce planning and talent acquisition
- Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of entitlement
and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends
unemployment hearings telephonically or in person when
necessary
- Assist HR Leadership with various research projects and/or
special projects
- Execute and live the company values every day
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual
coaching needs
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of HR programs &
initiatives to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training
objectives are met

confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to travel up to 25% What you need to apply:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience resolving complex employee
relations issues
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines,
including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis,
employee and union relations, diversity, performance management,
and federal and state respective employment laws
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or
equivalent work experience
- HR Certification, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or
ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
