Job Description:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Compensation Data Analysis Prepares
compensation data for external transit constituencies and for
salary studies. Gathers data from market-based compensation
surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess
results and market trends. Prepares and presents summary reports of
job analysis and compensation analysis information. Benchmarks jobs
against survey data and other market intelligence to determine
competitive compensation ranges for each position. Build and review
competitive compensation packages for internal and external hires
in a manner consistent with internal guidelines and principles.
Position Maintenance Receives and analyzes recommendations from
management regarding organizational and personnel actions to
determine propriety, adherence to established policy, contracts and
procedures. Prepares appropriate responses and actions. Maintains
record of organization structure (org charts) and creates ad hoc
visuals. Configures HR systems for positions to be prepared for
hire. Monitors vacancies and prepares reports regarding positions
moving through the hiring process. Prepares documentation related
to staffing modifications. Works closely with Human Recourses
Information System to maintain HR systems on compensation related
information and changes. Works closely with Recruitment and Budget
teams on organizational and personnel matters. Job Classification
Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the
organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work
being performed by incumbents. Assists management and senior staff
with job analyses, evaluation of exempt and non-exempt
classifications, band structure and compensation data to recommend
appropriate levels in organizational and compensation hierarchies
for new and existing jobs. Prepares periodic and special reports
relevant to compensation function. Performs other duties as they
might be assigned. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to this

Communicating compensation salaries and procedures. Attention to
detail to maintain database integrity. Keeping abreast of market
salary tendencies and federal, state and local laws regulating
compliance of pay policies. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance,
Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related
discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and
experience. One (1) years of experience in compensation and job
classification preferred. Certified Compensation Professional
(CCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, and/or
Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional
(SHRM-CP) desirable. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Requires remaining in a
stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly
operating a computer and other office productivity machinery.
Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live
within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at
the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment
at CTA. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Working knowledge of
salary survey design and analysis methods. Working knowledge of job
classification and job evaluation techniques. Working knowledge of
The Authority’s organizational structure. Strong verbal, written,
and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and
time management skills. Knowledge of human resource laws,
regulations and best practices Good research skills. Intermediate
Microsoft Word and Excel Skills Strong analytical and
problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of quantitative and
qualitative research methods WORKING CONDITIONS General office
working environment. EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, AND MATERIALS UTILIZED
Software including Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, and
ORACLE. Standard office equipment. Employees and/or union members

by the qualifications of the selected candidate and may be higher
