Job Description Job Description Job Title: Air Cargo Clerk / Ocean Clerk Location: Franklin Park, IL Pay Rate: Starting at $17 (based on experience) Schedule: Monday–Sunday (based on cargo volume) Shifts Available: - 1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM - 2nd Shift: 4:30 PM – 12:30 AM Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking detail-oriented and reliable Air Cargo Clerks and Ocean Clerks to join our team in Franklin Park, IL. In this role, you will coordinate shipments, prepare documentation, and ensure compliance with shipping regulations in a fast-paced logistics environment. Air Cargo Clerk Responsibilities - Prepare and process export/import documentation (MAWB/HAWB, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin) - Arrange cargo bookings with airlines and coordinate pickups and deliveries - Ensure compliance with TSA and IATA regulations, including Dangerous Goods screening - Track shipments and resolve delays or issues - Serve as the main point of contact for customers, agents, and carriers - Accurately enter shipment data into systems (e.g., CargoWise) - Assist with cargo handling and customs clearance Ocean Clerk Responsibilities - Prepare and process shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists, customs declarations) - Coordinate logistics with steamship lines, freight forwarders, and trucking companies - Ensure compliance with CBP and other regulatory requirements - Provide shipment updates and resolve discrepancies - Handle billing, invoicing, and cost verification, including demurrage quotes Requirements & Qualifications - Previous experience in freight forwarding, import/export, or logistics coordination preferred - Knowledge of shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures - Experience with cargo management systems (e.g., CargoWise) - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to multitask and meet deadlines - Must have a flexible schedule and be open to working both 1st and 2nd shift as needed
