The Doctors Company Information Technology team has an
opportunity for a SCM Build and Release Engineer. This role can be
based in our Chicago office or Napa, CA headquarters.
Under general supervision, coordinates, manages, and releases
application development code related to the development and
deployment of TDC technologies within Dev, QA, QA2, UAT, and
Responsible for the set-up, maintenance and ongoing development
of continuous build/ integration infrastructure.
Tracks project deliverables and report project status to
management. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish goals. Works with Application Development to continually
improve current release processes and technologies utilized. Also
will develop automated scripts to help overall testing of products
released. Contacts may include internal IT staff and users, as well
as external software and hardware vendors. Position may involve
occasional after-hours production support or weekend
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination
of education and experience required.
Three (3) years of software configuration Management/build
Three (3) years of experience with deployment of solutions based
on Microsoft .NET technologies, Azure DevOps, SQL database is a
Three (3) years of experience with Change Management and Release
process /equivalent work experience.
Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous
Deployment methodologies with Azure DevOps or similar.
Two years (2) experience in design and implementation Continuous
Integration (CI) Continuous Delivery (CD)

Coach, mentor, and motivate the project team and influence them
to take positive action and accountability for their tasks/projects
while supporting overall team to identify and achieve corporate
goals, department goals and development goals.
Communicates and delivers ongoing/timely feedback to the project
team regarding their performance.
Monitor roles and responsibilities of the project team.
Stay well informed of current and emerging
A gatekeeper to the production environment, ensuring consistency
in policies and operational procedures, release integration testing
and production validation.
Analysis, Design & Execution
Manage software configuration management process.
Understands, monitors, and leads changes in the software
development lifecycle to carry forward Configuration Management
Participate in the development, debugging, administration and
maintenance of build- and source code/CR reporting-related tools in
addition to nightly and other automated build tools and
Build and Install applications and all of their components
(database, file systems, code, etc.), including but not limited to
code merge, promotion, deployment and verification.
Perform impact analysis during build planning as it pertains to
software packaging, operational changes, downtime, policies and
Administrate and maintain SCM system repository.
SCM Release Quality Control- Evaluates the product release
following implementation and drives continuous improvement into the
company's IT processes.
Responsible for maintaining multiple DevOps tools & configuring
across multiple projects.
Project Management / Task Management
Coordinate, plan and lead the configuration, build and release
Coordinate and manage projects and tasks base on priority with
clear and concise communication.
Project was delivered on time per specifications.
Project deliveries maintained a balance of scope, schedule, and
cost along with a strong focus around quality and the achievement
of business outcomes
Maximizes performance while upholding and encouraging behaviors
consistent with TDC's mission & values.

Responsible for Level 1 troubleshooting of issues related to
deployment or configuration management.
