The Director of Talent Acquisition will play a critical leadership role in executing CDK’s talent strategies as we continue to drive current and next generation growth and technology. This leader will develop and execute a strategic approach to talent attraction and hiring across the enterprise in support of the organization’s mission and talent strategies. This role will be responsible for advancing our talent acquisition tools and processes and integrating with broader talent strategies to lead a data driven and future focused talent acquisition function.


This role will oversee our North America recruiting teams including Tech, Corporate Functions and Operations and reportdirectly to the VP Global Talent. In partnership with key business leaders and HR COEs (business partners, compensation/benefits, HR ops), you will develop short-term and long-term talent acquisition strategies to meet the needs of the business while evolving the function and capabilities for future business needs. This role will be accountable for delivering against shared goals such as tech modernization, data & analytics, inclusion & diversity, and values integration. This individual must be passionate about doing more than the status quo, with a passion for understanding business needs and addressing those needs in thoughtful and meaningful talent acquisition strategies. This position is ideal for someone who excels in people leadership, operational excellence, and ‘outside of the box thinking’, who has the desire to make their impact by building teams that are redefining the automotive industry.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


  1. Lead a talent acquisition function equipped to deliver against organizational talent strategies today and in the future aligned with business growth expectations.
    • Strategically partner with internal and/or external resources to enhance or deploy employer brand strategies to attract diverse talent and reinforce CDK brand awareness for both technical and non-technical roles and candidates.
    • Oversee  the campus intern program to enrich the impact of early career talent pipelines into critical organizational roles.
    • Lead with a future focused, data driven, innovative mindset to position talent acquisition for success and Create Possibilities within TA at CDK.
    • Coach, develop and strengthen the capabilities of our recruiters and hiring managers to attract, source, and hire talent in ways that support our anticipated talent needs.


  1. Partner closely with HR, Business Leaders, and Business Partners to foster strong relationships with HRBPs/COEs and key business leaders.
    • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with HR COEs, HR leadership, and business leaders; seek to understand how the business functions and how this function can better enable success.
    • Be Open to feedback and new ways of working that meaningfully integrate TA with the business.
    • Stay Curious and seek to understand the employee experience and business operations to assess and execute strategies to strengthen the relationship with TA in effort to improve the candidate and hiring manager experience.


  1. Optimize processes, tools and resources to leverage data and technology in ways that accelerate key talent strategies.
    • Enhance tools and processes to maniacally focus on delivering a superb candidate experience.
    • Optimize ATS process design and implementation to streamline recruiting operationalization and improve candidate, recruiter, and hiring manager experiences.
    • Leverage data and insights to deliver effectively against key TA metrics, strengthen HR and business relationships, and fortify the talent acquisition brand at CDK.
    • Complete RFP for recruitment marketing strategy partners and elevate our ability to attract top talent.



Qualifications required

  • BA/BS required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in full lifecycle recruiting. 
  • Experience leading Talent Acquisition teams in  growth organizations with demonstration of success.
  • Strong business acumen, HR acumen.
  • Strong business partnering and influencing skills.
  • Strong people leadership capabilities and talent development mindset.
  • Must demonstrate our organizational values in your leadership daily: Stay Curious, Own It, Be Open, Create Possibilities
  • Possesses a data centric mindset with the ability to leverage insights to make decisions and manage metrics, with strong presentation and communication skills as well as executive presence.
  • Strong project management and process management skills.



  • Experience leveraging various ATS platforms including SuccessFactors, Workday ; experience with ATS implementations a plus.
  • Experience implementing intentional D&I strategies within Talent Acquisition
  • Ability to successfully manage contingent workforce partners and various recruiting model partners.
