Sullivan - Ostoich Eye Center is a busy private optometry & ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced, friendly, and enthusiastic full time optician to add to our team! Our 5 doctors are friendly, caring and extremely easy to work for. We have 2 MD's and 3 OD's. The practice was established in 2001 and has a great reputation in the area as well as clientele. Responsibilities of the optician include: assisting patients with glasses selection contact lens training inbound and outbound calling scheduling appointments Check in and out of patients Ordering, receiving & dispensing glasses and contacts- troubleshooting- Optical Sales Billing vision insurance (VSP, EyeMed) The candidate is responsible for interpreting prescriptions from the doctor, recommending frames, lens education based on functionality and appearance, and contact lens training. The candidate should be able to calculate insurance copays based on eligibility via insurance authorizations. They also must be able to adjust glasses appropriately, troubleshoot as needed, and check up on jobs from the lab frequently. We work on Compulink Ophthalmology Advantage and sell mostly Essilor and Hoya Lenses. Experience with VSP, EyeMed, preferred but not required. Looking to fill afternoon/evening shift (i.e. 11am-7pm Monday through Thursday) and Saturdays 8am-1pm Company offers competitive pay as well as PTO, great health insurance with LOW premiums, 401k options.
