Job Description Pride Health is seeking a Histology Technician to join a team in Frankfort IN, 46041. This is a Part time role with 2 days a week. Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, processing, and analyzing tissue specimens using established histological techniques. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and the ability to work efficiently in a clinical or laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Perform preparation and processing of tissue specimens, including: Excision specimens Incisional and shave biopsies Frozen sections and formalin-fixed tissues Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as: Microtome and cryostat for tissue sectioning Stainers and microscopes Execute microtomy procedures, including: Precision microtomy Frozen section microtomy Cutting and embedding tissue blocks Prepare and manage histology cassettes and slides Perform routine staining procedures, including: Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining Basic dye staining techniques Prepare slides for staining and perform coverslipping Handle reagents, including preparation and understanding components and usage Support specialized procedures such as: Skin cancer diagnostics Mohs procedures Document procedures and maintain accurate records in EMR systems Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience as a Histology Technician ASCP-HT Certification (required) Active state license (must be in hand at submission) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Experience with cryostat, microtomy, and staining techniques Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Additional Information: Location: Frankfort IN, 46041 Contract: 13 Weeks with possible extension Shift Schedule: Tuesday & Wednesday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (2x8 shifts) Pay Rate: $30 - $36/hour (*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)
